The official Cyberpunk youtube account has dropped a trailer for cyberpunk edgerunners 2.
Over the course of today however, I've been working on a theory for how the show is going to plan out. Just based on the characters that have been revealed so far. It's very Smasher-centric
I think that the series is going to take place immediately after the events of Edgerunners.
Roman is going to be witness to Davids death at the hands of Smasher, and is going to try telling people at the Afterlife about it. (Of course, Adam hasn't been seen or heard from since 2023, so no one will believe him*)
Weak kingsley will want to protect him just because he's a kid I think.
D will be interested in this, he might also be at the afterlife because of his netrunning skills. His entire nomad clan was wiped out by person or persons unknown. I think that potentially Smasher was the one who did this. D is going to think this too, and so will want to see Roman's camera.
Talia, being an ex corpo, might have been at Corpo Plaza at the night of David's death. She might have seen Smasher, and been like "woah, that's so cool", and then quit to join Maelstrom to become just as chromed up and crazy as Adam.
With all 4 characters wanting stuff related to Smasher, they'll become an unlikely alliance to prove he exists to the people of NC, get revenge, get noticed, and whatever king might want.
Like with Edgerunners 1, I think that all these characters are going to die at the end. I don't think that the writers would kill a child though, so there might end up being a timeskip like after 1's episode 6, I'm not sure though. Maybe they would kill a kid.
* Personally, I think that Smasher might be an engram. I think that the real Smasher died at Arasaka tower that day, but somehow soulkiller was able to be used on him. Now that it's the 70's and the relic tech has been developed, they've finally been able to take that engram and put it back into a meatspace body. If this is the case, then D's clan might have been wiped out by Smasher as a test run of his reincarnation

No way. And it's going to be the kid following them around as they turn countless people into red paste?
It's going to be so peak. This is what cyberpunk (not the whole genre) does best. Cyberpsychosis. There aren't really anybody else out there who does that is there?
What I'm really excited about now, is that D, the handsome netrunner, seems to have blackwall powers somehow. There were red lighting effects coming off of him as he hacked a car into flipping over him dude! That was so cool!
The cars in this get me every time, lmao. So over-exaggerated.
There were some scenes of D burning some corps I think. Reminds me heavily of the psycho netrunner at the beginning of the psycho squad comic.
Netrunners are my favourite. I can't hate them. I think I'm in love.
I can't believe how soon this series is coming out! I'm not going to have to wait for this forever! Oh joyous day!
All of these characters are going to die horrifically. That's how it goes in night city.
Maybe not the kid. He shows promise. I have hope for the little guy.
Ooh, I wonder now if Adam Smasher will finish any of them off? Send a psycho to take down a psycho.
Eh. It'll probably just be MaxTac like in Edgerunners Ep1. Still. Imagine if the edgerunners intro lasted for a whole episode and not 5 minutes. Imagine if it was a whole 20 minute fight sequence!
AAAHH I'm so hyppped!
Maybe I could write my own short story about a psycho in Night City?
